FAQs
Do I have to decide on a package now, or can I choose later? You don’t have to choose a package right away. At the time of booking, you only need to pay a deposit of $200. Then, one week before your photoshoot, you can decide on the package that suits you best—you’ll need to pick at least the smallest package. However, after the photoshoot, once you’ve seen the preview images, you’re welcome to upgrade if you’d like more images. I want you to have the flexibility to make the best choice for your family!
Do you have a newborn client closet? Yes, I do! I’ve got a selection of adorable rompers, cozy knitted blankets, and soft swaddles ready for your little one. I love making sure your baby is not only comfortable but also looking super cute for their photoshoot.
Where do the newborn photoshoots take place? Most of my newborn sessions happen in your home, which adds a special touch. It’s lovely for your child to have photos showing their very first home when they look back one day. But if you’re after a more coastal vibe, I’m also happy to do a beach shoot on a warm day. The options are all about what feels right for you and your family.
When should I book my newborn session? As soon as possible! I currently only take on four to six newborns a month, which allows me the flexibility to reschedule if your little one arrives early or late, while still capturing them within that ideal time frame. To make sure we lock in your preferred date, it’s really important to book well in advance.
Do you retouch the images? Absolutely. You’d be surprised, but those little ones can sometimes get baby acne from all that milk drinking. I make sure to carefully retouch the images, so your baby’s skin looks as soft and perfect as it feels.
When is the ideal time to book a newborn shoot? If you’re dreaming of those beautiful, sleepy newborn photos, it’s best to book your session within the first 14 days. After that, I usually avoid booking babies between two to five weeks because they often get baby acne during that time. If you’re more interested in capturing those first smiles and more awake moments, the six to eight-week mark is just perfect.
What’s included in the family photography package? Are digital files and prints available? Yes, you’ll receive all your images digitally in a beautifully presented gallery, complete with both colour and black-and-white edits. Additionally, you’ll get a slideshow of your images set to music. All images are fully retouched to perfection—say goodbye to distractions like seaweed on the beach! You can order prints directly from your gallery, including framed prints delivered to your home. If you’re looking for larger-scale prints, I work with a trusted printer and framer in Geelong who can deliver them right to your door.
How long will it take to receive my images? After our photo shoot, I’ll send you a preview of your images within a week—this is the longest it will take, and I always aim to get them to you as quickly as possible. Once you’ve selected the images you’d like me to edit, your final gallery will be delivered within two weeks. Again, this is the maximum time frame, but I always strive to get your photos to you sooner.
